Sneak peek: The Networking Hub at HRC 2024, designed by Design Command
HRC catches up with award-winning London-based hospitality design studio Design Command to find out more about the bespoke design for the Networking Hub at HRC 2024.
What brings Design Command back for a second year designing the HRC Networking Hub?
We were thrilled with the positive response to our design for the Lobby last year. It provided a comfortable and restorative space for attendees to connect and network, and we're excited to build upon that success with another innovative design this year.

How would you describe this year's Networking Hub design?
This year's design goes beyond just aesthetics, it aims to create a sense of community and connection by creating a vibrant and flexible restaurant space. Whether it's a breakfast event, a lively panel discussion area, or an evening drinks venue, the space seamlessly transforms to accommodate different needs.
Eye-catching wallpapers and pops of colour add personality to the space, while the layout itself encourages interaction and collaboration. Circular tables promote conversation and connection. Warm pendant lights and table lamps are placed throughout the space creating a welcoming atmosphere.
What inspired this design's style and layout?
Our inspiration came from the desire to create a space that reflects the energy of the hospitality industry. We also wanted to incorporate current design trends that prioritise well-being and connection, such as thoughtfully chosen finishes and furniture, creating a sense of vibrancy and belonging.
Are there any specific materials, products, or suppliers you'd like to highlight?
We're proud to be working with a number of innovative companies on this project. We'll be showcasing products that promote wellbeing and comfort. Many thanks to our collaborators: Balsan, Chelsom Lighting, Contract Chair Company, JAB ANSTOETZ Group , Leta Contract Furniture, Tektura, Qraft Lighting.
What design trend do you expect to see a lot of in 2024?
We believe biophilic design, which incorporates natural elements into built environments, will continue to be a major trend. People are increasingly seeking spaces that connect them to nature and promote wellbeing. We also expect to see a continued focus on sustainability and the use of recycled and upcycled materials.
We're confident that this year's Networking Hub will be a highlight of HRC and provide a valuable platform for attendees to connect and network.
