Meet the supplier: Barfoots of Botley
HRC speaks to Kim Barfoot-Brace, Brand & Marketing Manager at fresh product provider Barfoots of Botley, who can be found in the Foodservice section at this year's event.
What are you looking forward to at HRC 2023?
As our first HRC event, we’re super excited to share our new innovation FreshLock®, meet and learn from key decision makers in the industry.
What can visitors expect to see from you?
We’re responsible for introducing a number of ‘semi-exotic’ vegetables to the UK mainstream…from courgettes to sweetcorn, sweet potato and squash. We continue to strive to innovate and bring new exciting nutritious and delicious vegetables to the market. As a vertically integrated family business that grows our own produce, we have a unique sense of care in all that we do. We can’t wait to share our ‘next big thing’ FreshLock®!
What are the top trends to watch out for in 2023?
As an award winning sustainable farmer (our founder Peter Barfoot has a CBE for Services to Sustainable Farming!), environmental impact and food security are topics that are close to our heart. Profitably is crucial to sustainability, so we believe efficient and sustainable solutions are high on the agenda.
What made you sign up to exhibit at HRC 2023?
We’re one of the biggest growers and suppliers of premium fresh produce to UK retailers, and over recent years we’ve been growing our offering to the food service industry. We have an extremely exciting revolutionary product in FreshLock® that answers increasing demand for waste reduction and efficiency, whilst delivering a quality taste experience. The HRC felt like the best place to share this with key decision makers in the industry, we’re excited to see how it’s received!
What are your top tips for exhibiting?
This is our first time at HRC, so we are looking to learn!
