Arriving to the UK as a teenager, it would be Kims university peers who encouraged her to pursue a career in what she truly loved - cooking. It would be her friend who dared her to apply for a stage at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and it would be her fellow workers that would mention to Matt Abe that Kim would like to remain in the kitchen post-stage. Taking Kim under his mentorship, Kim grew in experience and confidence, gradually working her way up, until one day Matt Abe invited Kim to become his new head chef... and the rest is history.
